CERTIFIED TOPSHELF: 2017 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARD FAVES

So much was going on that I hadn’t found the time to delve into my favorite red carpet looks from the 2017 American Music Awards. Luckily fashion has no timestamp. You can always give a fabulous look its’ props due. So let’s do just that!

Demi Lovato stunned in a strapless black sheer Ester Abner gown. The nude underlay gave the illusion of pure skin adding to the sexy corset bodice and tulle bottom. I must admit that the center part jet black long tresses gave just the darkness yet sultry vibe to round out the look.

 

 

Yara Shahidi what can I say? I just love this girl. She always maintains this sense of fresh innocence without ever trying to over do it. She stays in her lane, a lane that is all her own might I add, and does it very well. She donned head to toe Prada. I’m talking Prada embellished shorts, Prada collard shirt, Prada trench coat, and even down to the Prada silk gray knee-high socks. Her quirky yet preppy polished look had to be a stand out amongst the other women in gowns. Yara took to her Instagram and posted a picture of the back of her Prada jacket that had a very cool message!

 

 

 

New hair who this is exactly what I thought when I saw  Selena Gomez with the a new blonde bob. I loved her look in a custom made Coach long sleeved leather moto inspired mini dress. She usually looks very well put together glam and well nice. This look was tough, bad ass, biker chic and she owned every minute of it on that red carpet.

 

 

Ashley Simpson was actually my FAVE of the night! From her platinum blonde hair with dirty roots and a heavy smoke eye to give off that rocker / music royalty I belong here look. We haven’t even gotten to her dress yet! Ashley wore a sequin multi-colored disco Christian Soriano gown that stole the night. I really don’t care what anyone else thinks because in the words of Kanye West “DO YOU SEE THIS DRESS”? This is the type of dress you sneak into your Moms closet to try on when she’s not home and practice your Thank You speech, lol.
