NOVEMBER 2025 LETTER FROM THE EDITOR: THE QUIET SHEDDING

There’s a shift happening!
Maybe you’ve felt it too, that quiet shedding, that pull inward to observe more, speak less, and pour deeper into self. Lately, I’ve been feeling guided to get personal with what I want to manifest in this new world that’s forming. There are changes going on and taking the time to be still has taught me that being still doesn’t mean being stagnant. It’s in the stillness that I’ve been able to see what these changes are trying to teach me and what I need to learn to bring forth the creative ideas that have been waiting to be birthed. As someone who is a creature of habit, the hardest realization for me has been, that the old techniques, the old survival tactics just don’t work anymore. I’ve been forced to upskill in new areas, seek wisdom in new ways, and explore different industries. And in that process, I’ve been giving myself permission to do a reset and get in alignment, yet again and not feel guilty about it.
For me, that looks like spending time with people who bring me joy. Creating a home that sparks inspiration the moment I open my eyes. And yes, my walk-in closet/content space is coming together beautifully. I accept that yes, I am resilient. Yes, I am capable. However, I refuse to wear the strong Black woman trope like a badge of honor. It’s suffocating, and it’s exhausting quite frankly! Thank God for healthy outlets like journaling. These days, my journal entries have shifted from what I want to do and more about what I want to allow. I’ve been setting intentions to allow myself to soften in order to increase the capacity to receive all I’ve prayed for. Somewhere along the way, I built emotional walls under the name of safety. Those walls turned into hyper-independence and that kind of independence can block light, love, and connection. So I’m dismantling them, piece by piece. No more. My identity, my expression, and my vision for where I’m headed have evolved.
So I may not show up online as often as the algorithm prefers, but when I do, it’s because I have something real to share. Here’s to slowing down, shedding in quiet, softening up, and allowing your blessings to spin the block and multiply. Until next time!

To A Life Styled Right,
Summer Terry
