STEAL SUMMER’S LOOK: YELLOW CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY JUMPSUIT

As you probably know by now I am utterly obsessed with anything olive green and/or camouflage print. When I found this utility jumpsuit I pounced not giving it second thought.
I’ve always been interested in jumpsuits but steered clear of them because I was not sure how it would sit on my frame. Most images I’ve seen where these jumpsuits look fab are on taller women and here I am at 4ft 11″ / 5ft on a good day with tons of curves (ample bosom, small waist, lots of booty, and thick thighs). I was convinced I would look like the singing mechanic on Martin, Elroy Preston! Nonetheless, I grabbed it up, tried it on and was pleasantly surprised.

With these type of utility jumpsuits you already have in your mind that the material is stiff and won’t be flattering at all. Not with this one. The material is not as stiff as it looks and even has great stretch without it looking like a spandex onesie. The simple drawstring at the waist helps cinch in that waistline showing off my curves in all the right ways. Might I also add that the little bit of stretch helps avoid the pancake booty look. It actually contours to my booty rather nicely which was a main concern.

There’s so many little things about this jumpsuit that was made perfectly that I can’t forget the ribbed ankle bottom which makes it an ideal pairing for heels. Because it’s 40 degrees here in NY I paired it with black suede Nine West booties and a faux fur collar but I will definitely pair it with barely there heels come Spring. You know I love me a transitional piece that I can remix throughout the seasons.
With all that said, can you guys guess where I found this jumpsuit? If you guessed my little gem finder Lady Dr. Jays you’re right. Ya’ll please don’t sleep on this store if you have one in your neighborhood. More times than often what you’re eyeing online is right in your backyard for half the price. I will warn you though, that Lady Dr. Jays is not the store where you can see something you want, not snatch it up, and think it’ll be there next week. So if you see something grab it up as I did because this jumpsuit is no longer there. But what kind of person would I be if I didn’t try to find it elsewhere. You can get a similar look at FashionNova for $69.99 which is $10 more than I paid.

If you decide to recreate this look I’d love to see it. Use the hashtag #stealsummerslook on Instagram and I’ll highlight you on my Instagram stories (so make sure you’re following me @iamSummerTerry) .
Until next time…
Happy Shopping!
