HEALTHY LIVING: WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY
I’m that girl that has always struggled with her weight from my teenage years all the way up into adulthood. The difference is when I was younger I knew exactly what to do to drop the pounds and the scale was my friend. But as I’ve gotten older things have changed.

Weight-loss journey’s can be a very sensitive and private thing especially when you feel like you’re doing everything right but yielding no results. Hence was my dilemma. I was following the same tactics I used back in 2010 – 2013 to lose weight but ever since I had ovarian cyst removal surgery in 2014 this body of mine has not been the same. It was no longer responding to workout and meal plans that I was doing prior. Especially my midsection because now those muscle tissues were so fragile that the snapback was going to take some extra help. In 2015 I began implementing plant based supplements along with working out and I saw minor weight loss but that was due to my eating habits. I was actually playing myself because I would eat healthy all day but when I got home with Bae the night time snacking ensued. It wasn’t until I got on the scale one day in 2016 and that thing read 189! Oh HELLLLL NOOOOO I instantly thought. I’m only 5ft tall at best where is all this weight being packed into? I knew where, my stomach, my thighs, my arms, and my butt (but I don’t mind that lol). Things had to change, I had my 35th birthday coming up and two trips in 2017.

Greens On The Go Blend Berry Daily Detoxifying & Alkalizing Drink
I completely abolished snacks in my house, amped up on the spinach and kale, cut out the pork (no more bacon), and minimal red meat at first (I was still a slave to Taco Tuesday tho). I implemented lean chicken, turkey ground, and fish, a herbal 2 day cleanse (which is actually on a BOGO until 7/25/17) once a month, daily detoxing, and vegan protein shakes at least once a day. Once I got in my groove of working out 3-4 days a week making sure I burned over 1K calories per session I started to notice not so much weight loss because I was convinced my scale had it out for my confidence but I noticed small changes in the way my clothes fit. After a high of that I took the battery out the scale and just got to work.

Herbal 2 Day Cleanse
I was already working out 3-4 days a week burning 1k+ calories, making sure I drank a green detox drink pre-workout, my vegan protein shakes post workout, having kale and spinach at least once a day, and drinking nothing but water. Once May 2017 rolled around I got super serious. This was my routine:
- Wakeup take ACV Shot (1tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar + Warm water in shot glass)
- 2 Servings of Greens on the Go before the gym, while at the gym, or after the gym
- 1 ThermoFit supplement tablet prior to working out and or with meals
- ItWorks Vegan Protein Shake (Vanilla) + ItWorks Probiotics
- Salad for lunch sometimes with meat sometimes without
- Turkey slices for protein and cashews for a snack
- Smart Balance Gluten Free Popcorn, Seas Salt Veggie Straws (2nd snack) or heaviest meal of the day + 2 Fat Fighter supplements
- Dinner (Lean meat, salad, and veggies)
*I started Body Wrapping in May as well every 3 days after right before my trip on June 21st.
*drank nothing but water throughout the day (used Crystal light for flavoring).
Even while in Florida I brought my ItWorks products with me as I also indulged a bit (it was my birthday). When I arrived back I waited a while to put the battery back in my scale. I attended a wedding showering the last week in June and had no limits on dessert table. I just knew I gained some weight! Surprisingly on July 11th I weighed in at 167. A whole 20 pounds from May 3rd (187.4)!
I accredit my consistency and the use of all the ItWorks plant-based products and it didn’t hurt that right after Fourth of July I watched the documentary “What the Health” and cut out all land animals and products from land animals as of July 6th. Moral of this long story is I understand for the first time when people refer to their weight loss as a journey. I’m not at my goal weight but I’m getting closer every month. I’m giving myself until the end of the year and with me being open and transparent about it, it keeps me accountable. I hope it also helps someone else who may be struggling in this area. I’m no expert but I’m open to answering any questions you guys may have. I know how tough it is, and I’m still in the thick of it with some ways to go.
