TOPSHELF TREND ALERT: FAUX FUR
It’s about that time to switch out the tanks and cardigans for sweaters and leather. And one item I love to mix and match with leather in the winter is faux fur. It really doesn’t matter if it’s a faux fur vest, infinity scarf, hat, jacket or coat.
Faux fur is the ideal luxe item that can take a look from day to night, drab to chic. The trick to rocking faux fur is making sure it’s of good quality and you go for elegant timeless pieces. Don’t be confused; just because it’s not real fur does not mean it has to look like a ratty hot mess or like wet dog hair that’s been dried up. No Mam! You know that look I’m talking about. And if you’re not one that can pull off the look a full faux fur coat or jacket you can always get a nice thick wool coat with a faux fur collar. If you look in some vintage shops you might even be able to find a faux fur collar that you can interchange between pieces.
You can always invest in a faux fur lined coat as well. Think of Shearling coats. They’re super stylist and keep you really warm in the cold winter months especially here in New York City. What kind of person would I be if I left accessories? I’m talking fur hats, gloves, headbands, earmuffs. Maybe I’m speeding but I’m just uber excited to pull out my faux fur pieces.
Here are some really dope faux fur finds that may help you winterize your closet in a furry chic way.
Are you ready to rock some serious faux fur?
