STEAL SUMMER’S LOOK: THE ULTIMATE CURVE HUGGING JUMPSUIT
It’s funny watching how fashion trends move and evolve. I remember not that long ago women were being bashed for wearing leggings and spandex out as a legitimate addition to an outfit. Fast forward to 2015/2016 spandex, athletic wear and leggings are on everyone’s mind in a very chic sexy stylish way thanks to Kanye West Yeezy Collections 1 & 2 and his walking billboard wife Kim Kardashian West. Now women can dress comfortably chic in a pair of spandex cropped leggings, caged booties, and a t-shit and be considered high fashion.

From there the introduction to the ultimate body hugging jumpsuits that were once reserved for aerobics class got a remix. Crop up the pants to knee length shorts, add a 3/4 sleeve, a mock/turtleneck and that’s the birth of the most coveted jumpsuit on every fashionistas lists. It’s comfortable, its chic, its casual, and depending on where you get it the material sucks you in perfectly.
I purchased my jumpsuits from Lady Dr. Jays months ago (yes I still shop in there time to time). At first I wasn’t really comfortable wearing them out as single item outfits so I would label them my airport outfits with a jacket or sweater wrapped around the waist whenever I was traveling. It was simple, soft, and absolutely no fuss. It made perfect sense!
Most recently I decided I give it a twirl as a stand lone piece. I will say this little number will hold you in place where its needed. However if you are a very curvy woman expect to have all your lady humps on display.
I paired my nude jumpsuit with a dusty rose knit high heel sandal that I picked up from Easy Pickens ( I also got them in olive green) and a lighter rose hued Michael Kors Anabelle tote bag. The cognac faux fur pom pom you see hanging from the bag was a little bag accessory I picked up from Marshalls. They were very inexpensive, something like $9.99 and it does not shed AT ALL!
Secondly, I paired the black body hugging jumpsuit with my all black caged “Daiquiri Peep Toe Pumps” from Nine West booties. Unfortunately, I purchased these over a year ago and are no longer on the website. But that’s just two very simple looks you can do with these body hugging jumpsuits!
To jazz it up I would add an oversized demin jacket with a leather baseball cap, maybe a duster and a classic barely there heel, and for the winter you can throw on an over the knee boot with faux fur coat. There’s many options to take this jumpsuit into spring, fall and winter…transitional piece ladies! The Ladies Dr. Jays website does not have it online but you can check inshore if you have one near you. For those of you that don’t have a Ladies Dr. Jays near you I did some searching and found the same exact bodycon, spandex jumpsuit on the FashionNova website in black and nude for under $25. They have it listed as the Waylay jumpsuit and its is described soft to the touch complete with full back zipper closure which is exactly identical to mine.
