I can remember the first time I saw a Versace print silk shirt. It was on the Notorious B.I.G in the 1996 Hypnotize music video. Seeing Biggie and Puff on this speed boat in silk Versace shirts were a representation of the term “we made it” back then. Versace has always been known for not only the prominent gold medusa head on their black shades but that luxurious rich and bold baroque-style print. Fast forward 20+ years and tons of fast fashion boutiques that recreate the luxury looks for less to reach a wider audience. This is where the chain print blouses come in.
I love me a chain print blouse, especially paired with distressed denim. There’s not one occasion where this ensemble is not appropriate. As someone whose style sense is heavily influenced by the work of Misa Hylton in the hip hop music industry and just growing up in an urban community aka the hood I like to mix it up, but I’m not willing to risk it all on that hefty price tag. Well not for certain things. Bags and shoes yes, but clothing not so much!
Back to this H&M chain print blouse look! To give it a relaxed feel I left the top 3 buttons unbuttoned, left both wrists unbuttoned as well, and tucked in the front loosely leaving the back out to hang. I don’t like to look all polished and pulled together. Those simple tips can be done with any button up for a more casual look. Adding to the laid back feel I chose to pair my American Eagle denim jeggings which have these really unique distress spots at the ankle and throughout the leg. I swear American Eagle has the best affordable and great quality jeans for curvy thick girls. They usually have a great buy one get one 50% off sale on their denim. You can check that out here!
Completing down to accessories I love a bold color shoe so I played on the slight hint of blue detailed throughout the blouse. I’m a remixer of my clothes and have blogged about these BCBG pumps in past posts. Super comfortable and have been holding up for about 3 years now. And if you’re someone like me that’s usually out all day and need a big bag to carry all your goods (flats, jacket, makeup bag, planner, notebook, hand lotion, perfume, gum, umbrella, etc)…you know the essentials then this iconic diamond quilted MZ Wallace tote bag is what you need. Not only is it super spacious inside it has two exterior side slip pockets, two interior slip pockets, and a removable interior zip pouch. YES…all of that space Sis! For full details on my look and shoppable links click here. My blouse and shoes are no longer available unfortunately, however I found multiple dupes for you to steal this look. I even coordinated the which blouses styled better with which color shoe (I provided 3 shoe color options too).
Have fun with this looks and if you decided to recreate it I’d love to see it. Tag me on all your posts, stories, etc and use the hashtag #stealsummerslook .
Until next time!
xoxo,
Summer Terry
This is thus far my favorite fashion blog! This outfit was perfectly curated. I completely agree with you about not spending a hefty tag. So many people forget fashion isn’t a bout the price tag.

Levi’s are my original go to! They actually have a nice high waist Levi jean with stretch in Target.
