HOW TO REMIX: AMERICAN APPAREL CREPE SUNBURST PLEATED SKIRT

Would you believe this July makes 5 years since I’ve been blogging! If it weren’t for WordPress reminding me of that milestone it would have definitely escaped me. I just write! That means for 5yrs you all have been reading about my love for fashion, my obsession with skincare, have gotten to know some dope women in my TopShelfDiva features (which I’ll be bringing back soon), and have seen me style looks for the low low. Now that we’ve gotten here, you know built up our wardrobe I figured why don’t I show you how to make the most out of your purchases. Yes remixing one item into multiple looks…Welcome to “How to Remix”!

I realize its summertime, and the attention span of actually sitting still and reading a blog can be daunting so we just gon hit it and get it in short videos. In these How to Remix videos I’ll take one item and create 3 different looks for 3 different vibes. Y’all know I’m all about the VIBES! I will preface that not all these items are always going to available because we’re pulling right from the closet. I’m talking things I’ve had for years. But that’s the whole point, I’m not selling you on looks I’m showing you how to take one item you already have + additional pieces in your closet = create multiple looks! But just in case you do see something you’d like to snatch up I’ve done a light sweep to see where these items are floating around on the internet if they are not available in store anymore. Enough of me rambling let’s get into the video. Item details will be below.

American Apparel Crepe Sunburst Pleated Skirt – It’s not available in stores or AA websites. However it is available on reseller sites such as Poshmark & Ebay.

Look 1: A New Day Tank – available at Target $8 each on sale 3/$20. If you follow me on IG: @iamsummerterry I took you with me to Target where I scored 6/$40 in an array of basic solids (white, black, grey, and red). Tip: Always get more than one white.

Pink Faux Leather Waist Bag – Purchased at Lady Dr. Jays a few years back. Those type of stores don’t keep the same inventory so I’m sure it’s not there anymore. But don’t sleep on Lady Dr. Jays. It had to be between $15 – $24.99.

Shop ICCON Headband Turban

Charlotte Russe Paulette Mule Sandal – no longer available on the website however I did find them on Poshmark sizes 8 and 9.

Neon Clear Frames were purchased off a street vendor for $10. Next time you see the guy with the frames on the block stop and look around.

H&M Cropped Denim Jacket – My exact denim jacket is not available and I didn’t see any currently up there. I did see a few options on Zara website. This happened to be super cute and only $40.

Look 2: Boohoo Maddie Plunge Bodysuit – I’ve had this for years and its still available ($12). I cut the straps off and everything because the fit was weird and the cup area is not flattering AT ALL. I honestly don’t suggest you purchasing it to keep it 100 with you. Because it’s so ill fitting I pair it with my Lace Overlay Moulded Push Up Bra from Missguided. It gives me all the support I need and the extra straps are super sexy & edgy. Unfortunately the bra is not available any longer but you can find similar multi-strap bras on the site, as well as Boohoo and Asos.

A New Day Plaid Boyfriend Blazer – This was another Target find. It’s not available any longer in store / online but a few folks are selling it on Poshmark between $20 – $22.

Nine West Hype38 Black Heel Mules – These are soo vintage but I love them. Absolutely not in stores but guess where I found them for you…yup Poshmark lol. They were originally $80 (and worth it) but the reseller has them listed for $30. If you’re a size 7.5 go get em!

Chanel Vintage Classic Double Flap Lambskin Bag with Gold Hardware Medium – This was my very first designer bag I bought for myself back in 2006. At the time I believe I paid a little over $2,400. Right now it’s estimated at $5,600. Don’t ever let anyone tell you designer bags are a waste!

Black Pearl Round Shades were a purchase from Claire’s back in 2009. We can all agree those babies are gone. You can find a variation of similar designs just by googling black pearl shades.

Mr. Rogers Good Vibes Graphic Tee – This was a purchase at Five Below for guess how much… $5 lol. It’s not longer on the site but it’s so popular I’d say scope out your closest locations inventory.

Zara Drawstring Bucket Bag is gone girl! They have some other dope red bags on their site but this particular one can only be found on Poshmark these days for $25.

Adidas Runfalcon K – Scooped these up in Marshalls for $40 as I was looking for the New Balance 990. Didn’t find them but these were a good consolation prize!

Red Backstage Shades – I did a collaboration with MVMT last year. They were nice enough to let me pick what 2 items I wanted which one were these shades. They are originally $65 but right now are on sale for $48. I’m not sure if my promo code (iamsummerterry15) still works but it won’t hurt to give it a try for $15 off !

That’s everything in the video. Out of all 3 looks the pink, neon, and metallic shoes was my fave!
