TOPSHELF BEAUTY REVIEW: MAYBELLINE FIT ME MATTE + PORELESS FOUNDATION
I’m a woman that’s lucky enough that I don’t have to wear foundation. Usually, I’ll throw on some concealer, and little powder, mascara, and a fierce lippie. But I was drawn to try the Maybelline FIT Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. So let’s see how it worked out.
During my run to Target on a hunt for a Essie nail polish (which they didn’t even have) I got sucked into the makeup aisle. I figured it was ok because I realized I ran out of my NYX concealer I use as a highlight. I grabbed that and before you know it I was looking at the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, and then everything that read matte started to grab my attention. This leads me to the Maybelline FIT Me Matte + Poreless Foundation (normal to oily). I’m not that girl who even likes to try drug store foundations because I hate trying to match my color. At Sephora, MAC, and department stores they do all that for you. Here I go opening up bottles sampling it on my hand to see how it feels and if it blends well. I ended up getting Toffee Caramel because it looked like the last foundation I remember buying from Makeup Forever (I love their Matte Velvet foundation).
I came home and washed my face so I can start with a blank canvas. Excuse the naked-ness lol! Anywho, the first thing I did was fill in my brows because they are seriously sparse. Anyone who knows me know I can’t go or do anything without filling in these brows. I use the Anastasia Brow Wiz retractable pencil in brunette and clean them up with my NARS concealer in Amande. Once the basics are done I start to apply the foundation. It’s going on good but looks a little light I think to myself. But after a few minutes of setting it warmed up to my skin tone… Amazeballs! I can honestly say I really like this Maybelline FIT Me Matte + Poreless foundation. It does not look cake-y, I don’t look like a corpse, and its super light weight. I proceeded to finish my face as I would if I were leaving the house by setting it with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Dark, some eye liner, mascara, a little NARS Albatross on the cheekbones and bridge of my nose for a nice glow, and MAC Photo as my lippie lined with MAC’s Bittersweet pencil. And here is the final result!
I took the picture with the camera from Instagram only because I noticed that the front facing camera on the iPhone always flips the picture when its taken. So it doesn’t come out how you see it when you take a picture. Weird, I know. I also didn’t use a filter on the picture because I wanted you to be able to really see the makeup or lack there of because it blended so flawless.
So for my first drugstore foundation buy this Maybelline FIT Me Matte+ Poreless foundation is a winner!
