STEAL SUMMER’S LOOK: H&M PADDED AND HOODED JACKETS

Man I tell you, Instagram is a saving grace! I spend a fair amount of time watching stories of my fave grammars I follow. Well this time Instastory stalking has done me well.

I was watching the Instastory of one of good friends and MomBoss/Lifestyle Blogger Dacy Dash of Discovering Dacy when I caught a glimpse of her in a tomato red puffer coat that I had to have. Now I’m not one for red but I’m slowly changing my mind about the hue as I’ve noticed not only how strikingly good it looks on me but how it makes the most dull looks pop! Now I know you must be thinking “yea yea yea Summer all puffer coats look the same”. Well I’m here to tell you that you are terribly mistaken.

 

 

These H&M Hooded Jackets are severely oversized, have inside button detailing up to the neck so you really don’t need a scarf if you choose not to, and an exuberant dramatically sized hood. And you all know I’m always here for the dramatics when it comes to fashion. However, I had no idea I was late to the party and that these coats went on sale on Black Friday! I know it’s a whole month later; I’m real late, lol. The H&M Hooded Jackets retail for $59.99 but were on sale in store only for $15. YES GIRL $15!!! That’s a 10 dollar bill and a 5 dollar bill; three 5 dollar bills, or 15 singles! However you want to break it down it was less than $20. You know I went crazy right. Immediately jumping into action with the knowledge that it was a small chance they were still in stores (and I didn’t want to do the leg work in this frigid NY weather to find out) I used my social media relationships with the power of DM’s and texts. Dacy connected me with the plug and BOOM! I had my tomato red H&M Hooded Jacket. Oh but this didn’t happen immediately.

 

 

During the days of waiting to see if the item could be found I did go to one H&M at the Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx. Being a woman on a mission and not there to look for anything other than this hooded jacket I inquired with a sales man who confirmed my assumptions that they were all sold out. Still determined I walked around the store and bumped into a woman holding a camouflage Padded Jacket (you see where I’m going). She was trying it on but was unsure and yet still wasn’t prepared to let go of it. We got to talking and I told her about the hooded jacket I came in to look for and she told me she just returned hers she purchased online and its in the dressing room. I couldn’t beeline it fast enough to the dressing room you guys. Once I got there I saw it was tucked away all the way in the back on the last rack, “Excuse me, can I try that jacket on?”I asked the fitting room attendant. You guys I’m not even going to tell you what size the jacket is. Let’s just way it’s not my size or even close to it. But I had already convinced myself of getting it, stating to myself that I would wear it in the oversized trend that I love so much.

 

 

 

Now that I had my jacket I could stroll around the store with my anxiety levels lowered skimming what else was they may have. I found myself in the “work-wear” section and that’s wear I saw it. It was the camouflage padded jacket, $49.99, that the lady from earlier was trying on. She must have decided not to get it but also just put it anywhere. Well thank goodness to her because had she not returned the hooded jacket in green I would not have found it. And had she not decided to get the camouflage padded jacket I wouldn’t have gotten it because it was the last one and I hadn’t even see it before.

 

 

By the time I reached my apartment I got word that the tomato red  Hooded Jacket was found one size up from mine. Addresses and Cash Apps were exchanged and the jacket was secured. All in all I scored lovely with these H&M Hooded and Padded Jackets spending a total of $80 for 3 coats! Not bad on the pricing and the story of what I went through to get them. I hope you enjoyed it!
