TOPSHELF STYLING TIPS: BRUNCH / BRUNCH DAY PARTIES
The weekend is approaching and you know what that means…you got it BRUNCH! It’s a time when you catch up with your girls dress up and drink dozens of mimosas and bellini’s. So of course you want to make sure you look good. I took the liberty of putting together three different looks and I hope you enjoy them.
Brunch in the 21st century has evolved into social gatherings not just for women but for men now too. They are structured like a nightclub atmosphere but it takes place in the day time…they call these Brunch Day Parties. The first set is a look I believe is ideal for a brunch / day party outing.
The floral Escada slightly fitted blazer plays as the focal point of the outfit. To give it a nice casual feel I paired it with a pair of River Island slim boyfriend jeans ripped at the knee, and an army green jersey knit torn short sleeve tee from H&M. Heels are always a must and the red Casadei pumps brought out the red flowers in the blazer perfectly. To finish this look off I chose to top it off with a classic 2.5 Chanel small double flap purse.
The second look is more of a traditional brunch environment and preferably somewhere with warmer weather. I wanted to go for a modern day ballerina look and this sorbet orange looking midi tulle skirt did just the trick. It was multi-layered in full tulle, soft, and was accompanied by a satin band around the waist. I was torn with matching it with the floral appliquéd denim jacket with hopes it wouldn’t compete with the tulle skirt. To my dismay, the two complimented each other so well it made my decision 100 times easier to pair it with a basic white tank top. Going with the sorbet color palette I chose to add the Valentino Watercolor Rockstud Slingback pumps and a shell shock of a necklace with pearls in neutral and white hues.
This final look can work for either environment. It carries the sophistication of Sunday Brunch but the casualness of a chic Brunch Day Party. Denim is always a versatile piece! And at this point if it doesn’t have a rip or a tear in it somewhere I just don’t want to wear it, lol. The white all over lace sleeveless top adds a dose of ultra femininity and elegance while the white structured Balmain double breasted blazer adorned with gold decorative buttons contrasts with it to perfection. I wanted to add a bit of edge to this so I pulled out a pair of black and white Steve Madden snakeskin print pumps. To play off the gold buttons on the blazer I added gold accessories and a white ostrich Chanel Crosby body bag with white leather and gold chain straps.
So the next time you have a brunch or day party planned to go to and are not quite sure what to wear try to follow the examples in these 3 looks.
xoxo – Summer
